STURGIS MOTORCYCLE RALLY

Founded by Clarence "Pappy" Hoel, The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally was founded on on August 14, 1938
by Clarence "Pappy" Hoel, also the founder of the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club. Originally a two
day event, the focus of the Sturgis Rally was motorcycle racing and stunts. Held on the first full week of
August, today’s Sturgis Rally has grow to an attendance of over 500,000 and takes place over a full week.
